Nice. I haven't had many experiences with real Absinthe because is costs a fortune around here, so I'm not sure how this compares to the real thing. But I do like this stuff. I made it exactly per the instructions --- one bottle Absinthe Pro TF, one bottle Besk essence, 140 proof neutral spirit, 75 grams sugar, made up to 750 ml. It's tasty. You have to mix it with water until it louches, otherwise it will set you on fire. I'm not sure why others have said it does not louche --- mine does fine, but it takes an equal volume or more of water to louche. When I saw the dark brownish color of the regular Besk essence, I wasn't sure how well it would mix with the green of the Absinthe essence, but it makes a nice green color. I think the flavor is better than a regular pastis or anisette, because the Besk wormwood flavor balances the anise sweetenss with some bitter astringency. The green fairy will get right on top of you, and the next day you'll wonder what happened.

meh.... not quite what I was expecting. I followed instructions and added the wormwood essences.I Found the Anise flavor to be too strong for my liking. Although extremely strong powerful drink, mine does not louche. I don't know why.My absinthe drinking friends were not wowed, but they didn't hate it.I am going to try a completely home made batch next ( not from essence) to see which is the better drink. Who knows I may be back to the essences after my little experiment. Over all a strong liquor that numbs the mouth and tastes a little like a popular night time cough syrup with a very high alcohol %. ( I used polished grain alcohol).

Surprising. I admit that I was slightly skeptical when I ordered this product. But now I am amazed at how well this stuff worked! It has a great louche, and it tastes and smells (even makes your tongue go numb) just like the real thing! I used 95% grain alcohol (which was filtered using active carbon), Absinthe Essence, and the Wormwood Essence. Total cost: $20.70!! (Not including active carbon cost) The cheapest Absinthe in my town is $45. This product it totally worth it. The only thing wrong with it is that the essence is a little heavy on the Anise, which makes the louche slightly more cloudy than it should be. And the food coloring is too green. Still, I would definitely recommend trying this product.

Yummy. Top notch. Comes out looking and smelling just like the absenthe we drank in Prague. The louche is amazing. I didn't think it was going to look so creamy but it really happened. I will be going with this again.

well worth the time. As far as Absinthe goes, this is pretty well made. It is not too spicy nor is it too bland, the sugar definatly helps bring out the herbal balances within. Mix and match with differant vodkas to enjoy absinthe at a wide range of alcoholic contents. A definate re order item.

Dan's recipe. Rather than sugar I use 1 liter of 150 or 190 proof grain alcohol and 1 liter of anisette mixed with 2 bottles of the absinthe extract and 3 bottles of the wormwood extract. The anisette gives a nice level of sweetness as well as a very nice louche not to mention a very authentic absinthe buzz.

Absinthe. I love this stuff. I drink two or three glasses a night, sometimes more. I don't know how real absinthe tastes, but I've developed a WONDERFUL way to drink this. You mix one bottle of grain alcohol with one bottle of 100 proof vodka in a 1.75 ml bottle with 2 UP Absinthe Pro TF essences and 2 wormwood schnapps essences. It tastes magnificent. You can mix the sugar in if you wish, but I prefer drinking it the old way with ice cold water dripped over a sugar cube on a slotted spoon.

Absinthe Pro TF. Prepared in combination with the Wormwood essence. Very good. I used Everclear 190 proof grain and did not dilute with distilled water. Yields approx. 180 proof for 750mL. I have drank czech absinthe several years ago. It does taste comparable from what I remember. If you do use 190 grain as the base and do not dilute with distilled water, do not use the sugar as specified. It will not dissolve into the alcohol. Planning on a 150 proof version in the near future to tame it down some.

Absinthe Pro TF. Mixed this and the wormwood extract they sell and a bottle of 100 proof smirnoff. Strong liqorish/anise taste almost like green Nyquil. Overall i liked it and drank about half the bottle. Didn't see any green fairies, ha ha.
