The Essential Extractor PSII Column High Capacity Column Connector is two columns in one, allowing you to distill water, vinegar, essential oils, fuel alcohol, moonshine, whisky, vodka, and more. Use the full-length, 2-piece column for reflux distillation, or just use one column section for pot distillation. Use it to distill water or essential oils by running it with ceramic raschig rings for column packing, or use it as a moonshine still by packing it with copper mesh instead.

What separates our High Capacity Pro Series II Distiller from other systems is that this column is the very same that we supply to small-scale distilleries and for use as a laboratory unit in large distilleries. This high-capacity unit also incorporates a larger column, increased cooling capability, and an extended condenser, making it capable of distilling at more than twice the speed of standard 2" distillation column while maintaining the highest possible purity.

About the Pro Series' Cooling System:
By placing the cooling lines near the top of the distillation column, reflux is created where it is intended- at the top of the tower. This allows for the most effective use of the column filling by causing the refluxed liquid to flow down through it, resulting in a cleaner distillate. Crossing the cooling lines instead of leaving them parallel results in a much more efficient cooling system, requiring less cooling water while maintaining effectiveness. And, by having the cooling system in direct contact with the rising vapor you achieve a far more efficient and effective cooling than systems that surround a column with a cooling water jacket. The slow heat transfer rate through the thick column wall is much less efficient, and concentrates all of the cooling ability around the outside of the distiller column. The result of jacketed columns is liquid channeling down the walls of the column, while not cooling the majority of the vapor as it is not in contact with the column wall. While such a system may operate faster, it is at the expense of quality. Learn more about the design of this forced reflux still here.

    On spot....

Posted by RT on Feb 28th 2013

I got my still..... but it took years to get it. I placed my order on the 15th of Jan. I did not get my still untill Feb. 27th other than the fact it took so long to get here the product is great. No other still out there for this price... When they say 25-30 days out they really mean it I ordered mine and at the time they were 10-15 days out. The temp reader is kinda small but I was totally okay with that. The build of the still is AMAZING very strong and the clamps are over kill for the job which is really nice too. I have to say this products is made by a human so dont be expecting every weld and joint to be perfect. I am not dogging their welders cause they did a great jpb. Just wanting a person who is looking into getting this still that it is hunman made please be aware of this. The still came with a metal gate on the bottom which they didnt tell me but the function of it is sweet it will hold back any packing that may have fallen into your mash. On an ending note simply Amazing,

    No Regrets!

If you are looking to get a reflux column, don't get the standard 2'' column. Spend the extra money and get this one, you will not regret it! I have all three distillation columns that Brewhaus sells and I can attest to the fact that the 3 inch High Capacity column far exceeds the standard 2 inch column .

    Great Item

Posted by Robbie on Aug 19th 2012

As usual with Brewhaus the shipping was prompt and the packing good. I got this item on Friday and ran 20 gals of mash on a stripping run Saturday. It worked just fine with an average of 2.4 oz per min. using it as a pot still. It was easy to balance and the flow consistent. I will review more after I use it as a reflux. Great item so far.

Great Results on the first try!

Posted by DW on May 12th 2008

I placed a phone order for the PSII column & keg adapter. All arrived on time & packed carefully. Fit and finish is very good. The column is very impressive looking with a fine brushed finish on the stainless steel. I have a little experience with a Desti-Lab still and the best I could ever do was 85% a about 1 drop per second, maybe a bit faster. I knew that the PSII High Capacity Column had to do better. I packed the column with stainless steel pot scrubbers (changing to copper mesh soon. Wash was about 20% When the temp came up to operating level and the output flow started I was pleased with the volume. The output was a thin continuous stream. After heads passed I collected into a test jar and found I had 92-93%! Stopwatch and measuring cup showed about 2 oz per minute. I need to play with water temp and flow, heat, packing etc. I wouldn't be surprised to gain a point or two. Bottom line, the PSII is a quality built item that performs very well.
