    Not Bad...But It's Not a Great Tequila

Posted by FlyboyTR on Jun 5th 2011

I use this as a base for "something else." I'm not sure what to call it but I blend it with a 60/40 mixture of Hazlenut Liquor, 40%, (already mixed per instructions). Together is makes for an interesting drink with good mouth feel. We actually enjoy it neat/on the rocks.

    Not Even Close

I mixed this as directed but it was not even close to tequila. I tried mixing it 50/50 with real tequila and all I did was waste a bottle of tequila. Back into the still to salvage the alcohol.

Not very good ... not bad.

Tequila is a very tough flavor to master. This was simulated but not very good. I even tried slow baked sweet potatoes finished with a light frying to get a Tequila flavor ... it worked pretty good ... but about the same as this essence.

Could be better and here is how

Mix as instructed and itТll turn out well enough. It was a little bland for my tastes so here is what I tried. Buy two Tequila Gold essence kits, mix with 1L 110proof vodka and chill. This really brings out the flavor and chilling takes off the edges, mixing Tequila is all about flavor more for less and keeping the alcohol in there is always appreciated.
