PSII High Capacity complete moonshine still. It took about 5 weeks for it to get to me and it was worth the wait. Very happy with this extractor. First run was a sugar was with approx 20% ABV I got 195 Proof first run.

The out put of the still is not as much as my 2 inch collumn. I don't think it was worth the long wait.

Overall good.. first time distilling anything. Produced what it was suppose to. This is an awesome unit. The flow control valve supplied needs to be changed. A quarter turn ball valve is no good for throttling and exact temperature control. This needs to be replaced with at least a globe valve, needle valve would be best. Don't cheap out and get the lab grade thermometer. The one supplied me was not accurate at all. 2 degrees high on the low side and 4 degrees low on the high side. The instruction booklet was very informative and I could not have started without it. It was however hard to follow at times with the bouncing between quarts and liters, and a professional should proof read it for flow. That said, this still is the bomb. I am a complete novice and I was able to produce exactly what was advertised. Brewhaus, you are me new favorite pastime.

PS 2 High Capacity Distiller. Purchased this unit a little over a year ago and immediately achieved great results. Have used it both as a pot still and reflux still; the unit works as advertised. However, the rubber stopper that holds the thermometer at the top of the column is difficult to remove when finished. A recommendation would be to have a threaded stainless steel cap at the top of the column with a removable rubber stopper, facilitating removal. Since the unit is beautifully crafted, do yourself a big favor and purchase the premium kettle... well worth the small extra cost. !

PS II HC. Really well built. Worked first time with little knowledge and produced fantastic results. Well worth the wait!

Outstanding quality and performance. Received this about a month ago with one of the fermenter kits and Turbo 48 yeast. Valve kit used to control flow to column. First run was 6 gallons and yield was 4 quarts 180 proof and an additional 2/3 quart at ~150 proof when I cut it off. The run duration was ~4.5 hours. Very pleased.

Great Still - well made. I am glad I waited until I had enough money to purchase the premium kettle. It is very easy to fill, clean, and is of high quality. The kit is easy to set up and the instructions are well thought out if you take the time to read them. If you need to go deeper than the instructions it would be well advised to purchase a book by Ian Smiley and visit the Forum to do your homework first. Add a needle valve to control the reflux and this will be an easy unit to drive. This unit has pushed me to a whole different level. I use a 1500W hot plate and it does take almost 2 hours to warm everything up with the 8 Gal kettle but if you insulate the hot plate is adequate. Workmanship is top quality and great customer service as the water pump I received had a crack in it and Rick shipped out a new one right away.

Great kit, get the premium kettle. Other than the haphazard, unwieldy tower cooling connector hoses, this is a great still. Pay the extra $$$ for the premium kettle. Most orders may ship next day, but my order was delayed 10 days and then was missing the pump and alcoholmeter. I had a incomplete kit, but a complete CC charge. Another 10 days later I will have the cheap pump and alcoholmeter, after I already went to Lowes for a fountain pump and locally for the alcoholmeter. BTW, I fixed the R2D2 looking tower cooling hoses with six 1/2" I.D. elbows from Lowes. My cooling line mod: http://www.brewhausforum.com/showthread.php?p=12437#post12437 Skimping on the details (small parts) tarnishes even the best products. Buy this still kit though. Get your accessories elsewhere.
