Brewhaus' Activated Stone Carbon 0.4 - 0.85mm is a premium grade of activated carbon made from stone coal and is to be used for carbon filtration, which you can learn about here.
Stone Coal activated carbon filtration is suggested for a pure, neutral spirit. Not suggested for filtering product where residual flavor is desired, such as whisky, rum, or schnapps.

Makes all the difference in making neutral spirits. Product is very consistent. Cost is low enough to use once and discard. Brewhaus does it again. Thank you for all you guys do .

Using this carbon with the stainless filter system and I was very happy with the results. One pass and you get crystal clear results and removes all off flavors. Follow the PDF guide and you will be happy.

CraigFeb 19, 2012, 12:00 AMEssential for good tasting vodka. A comment on boiling and baking to reuse it. I've done this but didn't get as much use out of it afterwards as new charcoal. And you might want to think about how much you pay for the electricity/gas vs. just buying a new bag.
