Home Distillation Handbook
Possibly, one of the best books on the subject, the Home Distillation Handbook by Mr. Ola Norrman describes how to make alcoholic spirits at home, taking you from the basics of fermentation through the process of reflux distillation. This is an excellent book for the beginner, taking you through the basics of exactly how distillation works, giving you a better understanding of the entire process.
The Home Distillation Handbook includes information on the following:
- Fermentation
- Distillation
- Recipes
- Blending
- Legislation
Paperback. 110 pages.
NOTE: This process is illegal in North America without a Distilled Spirits Permit, however, the construction of a distillation apparatus following the directions in the book is not, and the information can be read in all democratic countries. The information given in the book is not intended to encourage the manufacture of alcohol.

slowpoke scottyOct 31, 2009, 12:00 AMtoo much trying to push gert strand. i am disapointed with this book. the quality of paper and the binding is terrible. i wouldnt recomend it to anyone novice or experienced brewer. i cant tell you how annoyed i am about wasting my money on this book. much of the info is good but it attempts to lead the reader to thinking that gert strand products are the only ones to buy.

naMay 12, 2008, 12:00 AMEverything you need to know to make spirits.. This book covers everything from the mash, to the distilling to the filtering. This is a great book for the novice as well as the experienced distiller. Lots of good info to include thermometor calibration for elevation, boiling points, thresholds of collumns based on mash alcohol content, and important safety considerations. I purchased this book after considerable online research and have found it to be an invaluable resource that I refer to even now.
