FlyboyTRMay 27, 2010, 12:00 AMCocoRita's...Anyone???. I have found this to be a very acceptable coconut rum. It calls for 7 oz of sugar per 750ml. I found that to be a little too sweetЕespecially if drinking neat or on the rocks. I usually make it in double batches (two bottles of essence & 1,500ml of spirits) in a ½ gallon wide mouth Mason jar. After the sugar is dissolved, I place it in the freezer overnight, pull it out the next morning, remove the lid and cover with cheese cloth and let it sit on the counter during the day. I usually repeat this 3 times. It appears to really mellow it out and makes it much smoother. This is my secret ingredient for CocoRitaТsЕsort of a coconut margarita. One can of lime-aid concentrate (I usually use the cheapest store brand), one can of Cocorum, top with ice and blend until smooth. I usually add about 4-6oz of water as wellЕbut you can dilute to your liking. Another option is to use a lite beer instead of the water (I prefer Bush Lite). That really adds another layer of flavor... Enjoy

DukeJul 4, 2009, 12:00 AMA solid Coconut Rum for mixing in Drinks. This is a staple in my liqueur cabinet and mixes well with all of the standard mixed drinks using Coconut rum.
