High Spirits Turbo 48 will ferment to 14% in approximately 48 hours, or up to 18% in 5-7 days, just like other 48-hour turbo yeasts. What sets High Spirits Turbo 48 apart from other yeasts is that High Spirits does NOT contain Urea (usingĀ Urea in fermentation can increase production of ethyl carbamate, which is is known to cause cancer). Using Urea in beverage-grade fermentation is even against the law in some countries because of these health risks.
High Spirit Turbo 48’s combination of a very high-temperature-tolerant (to over 100F!), neutral fermenting yeast and a special blend of minerals, vitamins, and nutrients offer the purest fermentation of any turbo yeast available. Produced in our Texas warehouse right here in the USA, High Spirits Turbo 48 Yeast is both fresh and affordable.
- 175g sachet (6.2 oz)
- Each sachet yields 6.6 US Gallons (25L)
- Urea Free
Guidelines for Use:
13lbs (6kg) sugar = 14% abv in 2 days 17lbs (7.6kg) sugar = 18% abv in 5-7 days
Directions:
1. In an 8 gallon (30L) or larger fermenter, dissolve 13-17lbs (6-7.6kg) of granulated sugar into 2 gallons of hot water. Ensure that sugar is completely dissolved before continuing.
2. Using ice, cold, or hot water, top up to 6.6 gallons (25L) to obtain a liquid temperature of 95F (35C). Do not add turbo yeast until liquid temperature is at or below 95F (35C).
3. Add contents of package, stirring vigorously for 2 minutes or until contents are fully dissolved. Never re-hydrate turbo yeast in less that the full volume of liquid as it can kill the yeast.
4. Cover fermenter with a lid and airlock.
5. Allow to ferment at 86-100F (30-38C) for 2-7 days, or until complete.
Ingredients: Specially Selected Yeast, Yeast Nutrients (Ammonium Phosphate(Dibasic), Magnesium Sulfate), Trace Vitamins And Minerals

Good Product . Great product. It took less than an hour to start fermenting. This is as good or better then the 48 hour prestige. I am sold on this high spirits, especially for the cheap price. You cannot beat this deal. Going to order about 25 of these ASAP. This stuff is great!!!! Its nonstop bubbling. I sat a brick on my barrel to keep the top from blowing off.lol

Very very good product. I haven't used a Turbo in years. I just didn't like the smell they put off during the process, among other things. I do not know if it's the 'Urea Free' aspect of this Turbo. But the scent is actually quite pleasant. Not the overpowering pungent Oder I remember from a Turbo. If end product taste anything like the fermenting process smells? After filtering and a bit of age. It should be a very decent end product. If you haven't tried this Turbo? Please do. I do not see how anyone could be disappointed. And Happy Holidays People.

Great for warmer climates. Good results per manufactures instruction. Clean, sanitize, distilled H2O, control temperature, degas and clarify…baby it and you will hit the high number. Makes clean, fine taste and smell low wine. Happy with result. Would recommend to friends.

Great alternative to Prestige. After several runs of this, I can say it is very clean. Even more so than Prestige; however, I am only getting 14-16% vs Prestige's 18% after a long ferment (30+ days). So the loss of volume vs the difference in price is well worth the switch. But if you want quantity at each ferment, you need to make some decisions. I still believe this is a better value over the normal 48hr Turbo's. Buy with confidence. It is cleaner and worth the price even with a very small reduction in %.

Using with ‘Amazing Still’. I’;m new to this, so learning day by day. Put Turbo 48 in sugar water as directed. Gurgles the airlock like mad within an hour. Five days later, distill in a “bucket-in-a-covered-bucket” with submersible heater, a la Amazing Still method. Filter through Brewhaus’ charcoal pipe unit. At this point it tastes like a weak bourbon (!!!) Then I age it in 3-liter charred oak barrels for a few months, and man it comes out GREAT! This is great yeast for the price. Will be trying the Prestige Turbo Pure 48 (at a higher price) soon for comparison, but so far this High Spirits Turbo 48 has been beyond satisfactory for moonshine.

High Spirits Turbo 48 Yeast. This works much better than Alcotek turbo yeast and costs less. The Alcotek did not ferment completely and I was left with a very sweet wash. This worked very well.
Jeff Albert –
Turbo 48 Yeast. Just plain old works and works well. Very little aftertaste
Eric –
Good product. Makes a good mash with nice ABV. The only problem is sometimes the packages get torn during shipping. Good consistent product though

Turbo yeast. Love how this yeast produces
Jeffrey Albert –
Turbo 48 Yeast. Works as described. I don’t have a 95 degree place to use this, so I set my fermenters on heating pads and wrap the whole thing in a sleeping bag. Usually done fermenting in 4 days.

Turbp 48 and Vodka. Ran one to one comparison of Turbo 48 (High Spirits) and their more expensive competitor. Same amount of sugar, same fermenting conditions. Turbo had a slightly higher conversion ratio (17% final alcohol vs 15%). I distilled them separately and could not tell the difference (same percent hearts, and same final taste). High Spirits is half the price. It works for me.

Happy Customer. I would like to say something most people don’t take the time to say. Thank you for the suggestion on using High Spirits Turbo 48 here in a hot fermentation temperature range. I tried Still Spirits Heat Turbo before and your product way out performed. Right out the bag so to speak. Thanks for the instructions you gave also, it helped and the clear directions on the package. Normally experts who work with their products are normally the worst people to write directions, they know too much about it and leave important things out. You did not and thank you.

HIGH SPIRITS TURBO 48 TURBO YEAST. The only one I use now. Tried several in packets and bulk but none perform as well. Sure wish they could do something about shipping cost.

Turbo 48 yeast. Excellent product

My go to. This stuff produces as good as any, including higher alcohol levels than many but most importantly it clears better and quicker than most.I let it sit 3 days or so until it’s settled, then rack if off and use Sparkolloid and in between 14 and 36 hours it’s clear as a bell. Sparkolloid has always worked better and much cheaper for me to clear.

High Spirts Turbo 48 yeast. BEST EVER USED IT FOR YEARS!!!!!!
tony s –
turbo 48. I have used this yeast for years and it worked fast. It tends to have a neutral flavoring on the mash. but don’t make the same mistake I made last week. I made a batch according to directions and put it in a old 10 gal drink cooler. Well I killed the yeast because the yeast heats up when working that fast and raises the temp high enough to kill its self off early. make sure you let the container cool and not be insulated. Great stuff!
Jacob Johnstone –
Great product for a great price.. I’m just starting to get into the hobby of brewing, and I heard quite a few things , bad and good about a product like this. Mainly that it is better used for distilling as it brings a bad flavor. I didn’t experience a bad flavor with cider. I highly recommend it if you’re in the early stages of brewing and experimenting.
Lee Ellwein –

awesome yeast. it did exactly as advertised and with the turbo not needing any nutrients this made it easier
Robert Hewitt –
High Spirits Turbo 48. I have been around the block a few thousand times in the hobby distilling world and I always used and paid extra for the other guy’s 48 Turbo. And I always had a pear essence off flavor that all my friends loved. But I always knew it was technically incorrect. Neutral is neutral not off flavored. When Covid showed up I could no longer get that other yeast and it even took a few weeks to get High Spirits. When it got here I cranked out four batches, stripped, spirited and today I cut and bottled. No pear flavor just a wonderful hot alcohol nose blast even brought down to 52%. Don’t waste your money on the other guys. Buy this one, do a good job at running it off and use good clean cutting water. VERY VERY SATISFIED is an understatement!
