Prestige 8kg Turbo Alcohol Yeast produces less volatiles and ferments up to 18% - sometimes 20% or greater. The 8kg Turbo Yeast is not considered extremely temperature-tolerant, therefore it is best to keep the ambient temperature below 80 degrees.

  • 115g sachet (4 oz)
  • Each sachet yields 6.6 US Gallons (25L)
  • Best for small batch fermentation

Guidelines for Use:

  • For maximum alcohol and best quality- Ferment for 10-14 days at between 19-23°C (66-73°F) air temperature.
  • For maximum speed - Ferment for 5 days at between 24-27°C (75-80°F). Yeast will die above 27°C (80°F) air temperature.
  • NEVER make more than 25 liters (approx 6.5 gallons) in one batch with 8kg Turbo Yeast.

Directions:
1. Pour 8kg (17.75lbs) sugar or 8.8kg (19.5lbs.) dextrose into 8 liters (2 Imperial gallons, 9 US quarts) of very hot water. Keep stirring until you are sure all the sugar has completely dissolved.
2. Top up to 25 liters (6.5 gallons, 26.5 US quarts) with cold water then stir for 30 seconds.
3. Make sure the temperature is below 30°C (86°F) before adding the contents of yeast sachet. Stir for 1 minute.
4. To speed cooling, ice can be added in place of a portion of the cold water, or you may add sealed containers of ice prior to adding the yeast.

I ordered and paid for 10 packages of turbo yeast and received 8. I called Brewhouse and thankfully the person answering the phone was able to mail me the two packs that I needed to fulfill my order.

I would have giving a 5 rating if not for this error in filling my order.

Turbo yeast. Using this yeast exclusively for two years. Consistently getting yields of > 21% while adding Distiller's Nutrients from Brewhause. Allowing to ferment for several weeks.

Not worth the effort. Takes too long to ferment out and 14% is about as good as you can get. Followed direction to a "tee" and after 2 weeks still couldn't get SG at or below 1.000. Turbo Pure 48 is far better. I bought this when TP48 was out of stock and wish now that I had waited until TP48 became available. Don't waste the money.

works ok. i have used this yeast several time and have gotten about 14% after 10 days. 4 gallons of mash get me about 1 to 1.5 gallons of 120 proof. can get the same work out of cheaper black label yteast though but over all i have had a solid consistaint run with this yeast

Third time is not the charm.... Third try with this product, and its a dud again. Twice before I thought it might have been me, but now I don't think so. At best I get a weak fermentation with only 9-10% after three weeks. My winemaking D47 or Red Star Montrachet do better than this stuff (with the same recipe)!! Don't waste your money.
