The Essential Extractor Thumper is made from heavy gauge stainless steel, and is the perfect size for most 5-6 gallon grain distillations. The tall, slim design is optimal for the condensing of incoming vapor, which is necessary for thumper action.
Distilling with a thumper will give you roughly the same finished product as running a pot distillation twice in order to increase proof and purity. Although it does not double the purity of the distillate, the thumper increases the purity all in one pass instead of having to do 2 separate distillations.
What sets Brewhaus’ thumper apart from others is our optimal design. Some thumpers are very wide at the base, like 3-gallon milk cans, which can cause issues because the vapor won’t spend enough time in the liquid to actually get cooled. Our thumpers are designed so that the vapor will spend more time in the liquid in order to get properly cooled. We also have a diffusion screen in our thumpers to reduce the size of the bubbles because smaller bubbles cool faster than larger bubbles.
Features:
- Made from 304L gauge stainless steel
- 4″ in diameter
- Approx. 15″ in height
- Produces roughly the same finished product as running a pot distillation twice
Thumper Includes:
- 3L Thumper
- Diffusion screen to diffuse the incoming vapor, decreasing condensing time and improving thumper performance
- 4″ Clamp
- 4″ Gasket
- Attachments for the kettle or condenser (selected from drop-down above as needed)
Condenser Add-On Includes:
- 1/2″ Clamps
- 1/2″ Gaskets
- Liebig Condenser with ferrule
Kettle Connector Add-On Includes:
- 1/2″ Clamps
- 1/2″ Gaskets
- 2″ or 3″ kettle connection
- NOTE: The Kettle Connector Add-on does not come with a (2″ or 3″) tri-clamp or gasket because most people who order this already have a tri-clamp and gasket. If you do not already have a 3″ tri-clamp with gasket, or a 2″ tri-clamp with gasket, depending on the size of your kettle connection, please remember to purchase them separately.
Recommendations:
- A thumper is used in place of a distillation column and does not attach to any column. The thumper goes between the kettle and the condenser and acts as a distillation column itself.

Easy Still is Easy. This is a great little unit for those who want to distill small amounts at a time and have little storage space. I use mine in the kitchen. From a gal. of wash (16 lbs. sugar in 5 gal. carboy + turbo yeast) I get roughly 1 liter of 60% spirit in about 3 hours.

easy still. Fantastic distiller!! This still with the attatched carbon filtering tube produces the cleanest product I have ever made. Usually 50% and smooth. I use 3 coffee filters at the tube end which makes it a little slower but a super clean tasting vodka. Recomend this item 100% and it is perfect for the apartment or condo owner.

excellent product. this is easy to use, easy to clean and efficient. fill it as directed, set up the filter and catch bottle, plug it in and that’s it. a few hours later it’s done. Wash it out and your done. What more could you ask for?

Easy Still. Excellent product. Simple to use and depending on the wash you use very little filtering required. Usually distillate runs about 60% when I take out first 750 ml.

EasyStill. I had my doughts but I was proven wrong. Great little distiller. Made a batch of Turbo Pure 48, added 4L to the EasyTill and 3 hours later I had 1.5L of 50% clear and very smooth product. Absolutely no odors and very easy to clean. Highly recomend it. Great product.

EasyStillTM Distiller . Great product. My first time distilling with a sugar wash turned out great. I double distilled and got 75% distillate.

easy is as easy does…. This thing is awesome, it is so easy to make just about anything, from brandy to bourbon….my favorite is a simple weintrobe that I make from store bought jugs ‘o’ wine….seriously if you want something simple and idiot proof, this is for you. I am so very happy with this product.

Awesome!. This is a great little piece of machinery! Very easy to use and having the condensation coils cooled by a fan rather than water is a stroke of genius. I made a kick ass batch of absinthe with it.

Easystill. I must admit, I was skeptical at first. But after making my first batch of spirit with this device IТm sold. Without filtering through the activated charcoal it was rather harsh, but after filtering it made a fine base. IТm happy to endorse this product.

EasyStill. Absolutely love it. Pretty much foolproof! I do have a few questions though…..how does one make brandy, whiskey etc..?? I have only made superb vodka with it and also am aware of the essences and use of those also. I am considering buying several small charred casks to do my own personal aging and that would do what I need I suppose… Also….how does one mix up a potato vodka mash or a grainrye mash?? Please give me any info that is out there…and MANY thanks!! CHEERS!! 🙂

So easy. Made 5 gallons of sugar mash. Taking one plastic 4 ltr. container at a time, I distill out one quart of 60% every time. Double filter and it is perfect.

The Great Recycler. I distilled some cheap grappa and bad home made wine I had been given during the holidays and filtered it once through the charcoal. Came out a passable vodka-like spirit after just that one pass. Going to run it again to see if I can clean it up some more. The "Easyfilter" is a bit clumsy to set up. Filter paper tears too easily too. I followed a suggestion I had seen and cut out a piece from a 100% white cotton cloth. Worked great. This thing is the best for recycling all those crappy bottles of wine people give at xmas!!!!

Not a modified water distiller. I have the same distiller for making distilled water and used it to test the Easystill as a comparison. I just ran the EasyStill with distilled water for the test. The heating element gets as just as hot (IR thermometer) and it boiled the water using the same wattage (kill-a-watt) as the non-modified water still. I haven’t taken it apart, but I’d bet the chlorine vent is not closed as advertised. The water in the base was boiling and producing distilled water within 30 minutes – which actually is a little faster than the non-modified version. I Wasted my money, don’t waste yours.

New still. Well, i got it and tried my first batch over the weekend. Was surprised to get so much finished product, only it wasn’t just alcohol. Looks like mine boiled the mash and I got a 25-30% alcohol content and almost 80% yield of the initial volume. Tested it by running the batch through again and it went down to 10% alcohol. Looks like mine didnt get the conversion coil or something. Not too happy with it as it is. Can i get a new lower heating coil for it?

Highly recommended. It works great! Easy to clean and operate, with really amazing results in the production of distillates!

works quickly. the details said it takes 3 hours to distilling. When I took this out, cleaned it and rinsed it, I put in 750ml of a mash, within 15 minutes out came the start of the distilled product. i finished within the hour, with no problems. works great, and easy to clean.

Works Good. No problem getting good product from this. I didnt dissect the machine, I used it properly and was never disappointed in my 100 proof or better. It only makes about a quart.
TL –
VERY GOOD INVESTMENT!. I will keep it short and sweet. I only wish I had five more just like it! Makes the best quality product with an easy user friendly system. Brewhause please call me if you guys ever have a larger unit that works the same way. I simply love this thing!
BLINDEYE –
GREAT STARTER KIT!. This little bundled unit is a great start! Performs flawlessly and just how instructions state right out of the box. Just plug and play. Nice flavor carry over from store bought solutions, or a homemade solution with some post flavoring from scratch or essence, you will be pleased. The possibilities are endless… brandy, sake, vodka, rum, whisky!!! EasyFilter is somewhat clumsy, but is functional and should not detour your decision to purchase this kit (Note; use extra plenty sealant inside the couplings to prevent leaks). Customer service is excellent, received a damaged test meter and it was replaced quickly no questions asked. Staff knows their stuff, gives good advise, and responds quickly. If you are serious about the hobby, you will quickly out grow this unit, consider the PSII. Call your buds, light up the grill, and break out a jug! Would recommend to friends.

Great for the guy who wants to have a setup in the kitchen without the wife giving him trouble.. This thing is great. A little bigger than a coffee maker and very quiet. It is great for doing small batches of whatever and with running batches 2-3 times you can easily get into the 80%plus range. At least that's where I have gotten and stopped. I have an 8 week old baby so running to the shed garage basement constantly to do my hobby is not possible but on the counter in the kitchen works great. I figured it would be good to mention that because I am sure there are others like me who have busy lives and were unsure if they would have time to take part in a hobby like this one and the answer is yes you can. I ran a box of cheap wine the first time to test it and you may want to do the same. I saw in a different review on this product that it came out to watery. If you let this thing run till it is empty you will put the water right back in. I use a timer and once you get it figured its pretty much hands free.

Does not appear to be Modified, this Stainless Steel Rusts. As others have mentioned, this does not appear to be modified from a regular water distiller. The price at Brewhaus is comparable to the price for apparently identical units sold on amazon so at least that is nice and it comes with extra stuff that is handy. My bigger beef is that the Stainless Steel behind the Seal on the top of the unit will rust, causing it to leak and loose pressure, which, in addition to causing a mess reduces cooking efficiency and producing less distillate. I was able to carefully clean off this rust, coat this area with Vaseline and resume cooking successfully so far. I’d suggest removing the seal and cleaning this area on a regular basis. Otherwise it does distill alcohol, producing around 60% or 75% if you double cook, which didn’t seem to help the taste much if any so I don’t bother with double cooking. Eventually I will probably buy a bigger still so that I can do one 6 gallon cook instead of 6 per batch.

EasyStill = Best option ever. I’ve had one EsasyStill since four or five years ago. Now I own four.
I used them for distilling water and alcohol.
Excellent results.
The first machine have endured long periods of activity of almost 24/7 for months and still runs at peak perfomance.
Rod Petersen –
Very good. . Doesn’t take any time at all to make my water for my beer fermenter
John Hinshaw –
Easy Distiller. This looks like a real quality unit. It arrived well packed and undamaged. Once unpacking I had to “test drive” the unit just cuz. So I distilled a load of water – now the wife has a fresh supply of distilled water for her iron. Next for the real thing but waiting for the wash to get ready….

A great distiller! This is the second one I have owned. Still have the original, and it works great after 6 years. Nedded the extra one and brewhaus shipped quickly, at the lowest price and with extras. Great company! Great product! Thank you!. Would definitely order from Brewhaus again. And have recommended them to friends.
