Recommendations:
- To heat this unit, either two band heaters or two internal heating elements is sufficient, although some customers use 3 heaters for more power.

Plates are far easier to monitor than packing. And with the segmented design you can easily configure it from neutral spirit to pot still and anything in between. -
BudFeb 5, 2017, 12:00 AMVery High Tech Compared To My Old Packed Column. All I have to say about this system is WOW This thing is a beauty and works super good. I put 3 band heaters on the pot and there's no way to overload this column. One thing I love about the sight glasses is towards the end of the run you can actually see when the tailings start working up the column by the seeing moisture on the glass. Before you couldn't tell until it was too late and you could smell the tailings coming out. With the 6 sections this is some pure stuff coming out and being able to monitor proof the whole time is really great. As tailings go up the column and the proof starts going down switch collection vessels to separate. I shut it off when the tailings were at 85%. I might could have gone longer but wasn't sure. It's easy to clean afterwards becuase because the whole thing breaks down. Fine, high tech piece of equipment. Rick was a big help with questions too. This system was well worth the investment in my opinion.
