Recommendations:
- Most customers choose an 8-gallon kettle for this unit. If you’re looking at a 15-gallon, also consider the High Volume Gin Series, which features a larger column size.
- To heat this unit, either one band heater or one internal heating element is sufficient.
- For column packing, choose the ceramic raschig rings for distilling water or essential oils, and copper mesh for distilling alcohol.
- If you don’t like the bung, choose the wireless digital thermometer upgrade. This comes with an end cap with silicone bushing that the thermometer seals into at the top of the column, getting rid of the bung completely.

WOW!!!. This little still is by far an excellent fabrication of all "stainless steel" components and with the directions supplied does a fabulous job of a constantly reliable product. If there is a rating above A+. This is well deserved. Thanks Rick and all!!! I recomend the 8 gal premium kettle as suggested by rick. Fits my turkey cooker base perfectly and heats right up to 180 in 40 mins. Best you can find anywhere for the nivice "extractor"

Excellent. I'm impressed with the overall craftsmanship and simplicity of the design. The steel pot is surprisingly thick and heavy duty, I'm very happy with it. Did the first run today, everything is working perfectly.

15 gallon complete set up = fantastic. I ordered the 15 gallon complete pot still with the digital thermometer. No other add ons. Total time from placement of order to receipt was appx. 3 weeks. I called after 10 business days to inquire about the status of my order. Customer service was very friendly and explained that that each kettle and column was custom made to order and that mine was on the list to be made in the next few days. I received it within a week. I ran water through it, bringing it to steam to check for leaks and test the thermometer. Functioned great, not leaks. Only complaint was the thermometer. It didn’t work upon receipt of the package. I had to pick up a battery, then once working, the temp reading was way off. It’s a pretty cheap thermometer. I ended up buying a grilling thermometer with temp alarms. Save you $3 and skip the digital thermometer.
I am 100 % pleased with the craftsmanship and quality of the rest of the still system. Recently completed my first run and am extremely happy with the results. Highly recommend this product!

Pot Still Overall Impression. I score 5, but it is not perfect. The following is meant not to disparage but to point out problems to finally improve the product. The pump is good, but the plastic threaded adapter is far too fragile. The threaded end sheared while hand tightening. Second, the glass “lab grade” thermometer is not. At my elevation water boils at 211.5F. However, the thermometer indicated 218F. Hence, it is useless. Third, the clamp securing the top of the pot was slightly skewed requiring some effort to properly secure. Finally, expect delays in shipping as my unit was shipped 6 weeks after order. Do not let this deter your order – just be prepared for the delay.
The product overall is an excellent value. The welds seem well done. The heat exchanger is effective when cool water is used. I highly recommend the product.
