Copper Spiral Packing

Copper spiral packing (also known as copper spiral prismatic packing) is an excellent column packing due to its high surface area to volume ratio and very high void space.  As a random column packing it forces the refluxing liquid to move around through the column, ensuring contact with rising vapor and creating a heat exchange, vital for reflux distilling.

Made from 100% pure copper, copper spirals can also be used in smaller amounts to neutralize sulfur formed during fermentation, making it a very economical fill for neutralizing chambers.  Due to its spiral shape it cannot be overpacked, as can happen with copper mesh or copper scrubbers.

Copper spiral packing is also much easier to clean and maintain than copper mesh or copper scrubbers.
