Recreate the traditional Lincoln County Process used in the production of nearly all Tennessee whiskeys before barrel aging. This time honored technique filters freshly distilled spirit through sugar maple charcoal to remove unwanted compounds and mellow the spirit before aging. The result is a smoother, more refined whiskey with enhanced oak, caramel, and vanilla character after maturation.
Usage:
Steep 8.8 oz of Pure Distilling Maple Charcoal in 1.3 gallons of bourbon, whiskey, or 80 proof neutral spirit for 4-6 days. Once complete, decant the spirit into a small aging barrel or transfer it onto Pure Distilling Bourbon Chunks to continue developing color, flavor, and complexity.
