Hand-made and built to order, Brewhaus’ complete stainless steel filter system is a premium system designed to be used for stone coal activated carbon filtration. Our stainless steel filter system can be disassembled for easy cleaning and storage.
This type of filtration is recommended when the desired product is a high-proof, pure, neutral spirit such as vodka. We do not suggest activated carbon filtering when you want to capture character and flavor that developed during fermentation, such as whisky, rum, or fruit schnapps.

Lot of bang for the buck. This filter system is very high quality. The price is close to what the raw materials would cost to make it yourself. It certainly will last a lifetime. The only issues I have with this item is that it doesn’t come with a lid to prevent evaporation. Also, the exit of the reservoir is higher than the outside edges. This means that you’ll have about 1/2 cup of distillate left behind that will have to be raked towards the middle in order to get it all out. I tried to knock it to where it caves outward instead of inward with no luck. If these two issues were addressed it would be the perfect system for a small time distiller.

I like it. Once you get the technique down it works great. I ran 7 gallons through it in one continuos cycle and I got a great filter job on it. I don’t like the filter papers that came with it so I cut up some Mr. Coffee filters and use 3 of those, works great.

Comments. the problems with this is the flat bottom of the funnel has a ridge from welding tha leaves carbon and alcohol behind and it is very heavy, so stand would be nice. Any suggestions on filter paper placement?

good fix!!!. After reading others reviews, it looks like Brewhaus has fixed the issues! The funnel shape leaves nothing left that needs to be manually “scraped” I am nothing but pleased with everything I have purchased from Brewhaus

SS Filter System. The pic is misleading, the bucket on top is now a funnel. I didn’t know how to set it up to filter, so I just stuffed a few coffee filters into the bottom. After making a stand to hold everything up, I ran a 4 gallon batch through it with no problems. Only disadvantage is having to return to check it and top it up frequently. I finally figured out I can just turn the carboy full of swill upside down and set it in the funnel and let it flow at its own rate, just like a drinking fountain! Excellent!!

All Good!. High quality components in this filter system. Excellent service. Rick spent time with me and gave a lot of great advice and suggestions. Very knowledgeable and helpful to a newbie. As to the previous commenter that said he didn’t know how to set it up, refer to the free “Activated Carbon Book” on this website. Good explanation including many pics for the how-to. Great experience in every way. Thank you.

Buy it!. Nice product, very well built and the results were stunning. It took a sugar wash that was well distilled but had a unpleasant flavor to a beautiful neutral spirit.

filter. it would be nice if there were a picture or some written instructions on how to install the filter in the bottom I can’t get it to drip at all with the filter paper recommended for it I have to cut coffee filters to fit and it drips fine some help in this area and I would give it 5 stars.
edit rick contacted me and I am missing a screen I had bought mine before they started Including one and a set of assembly instructions too so change my rating to 5 star’s.

It works ok but…. …it’s dreadfully slow. Finding a place and way to mount the filter is also difficult. I feel that a big improvement could be made to the system by replacing the lower cap/nipple fitting with a tri clover fitting on the nipple side to install a valve to essentially shut the filter ‘on/off’.

Fantastic quality. Amazing quality, especially considering how low this is priced compared to the cost of the metal. I would love to see Brewhaus start carrying some sort of stand for this product though. Most users will need to build something to hold this in order to use it. I made mine out of scrap lumber and a bag of cement for counterweight.

Stainless Steel Carbon Filter. Awesome product! Easy to use and clean. Another great product from Rick and the folks at Brewhaus. The funnel also has other uses. Everything is better when it’s made out of stainless steel.

Great investment if looking to charcoal filter . Totally worth the cost. The unit is very well built & works great. I was using my still column as it was tall enough, but I had to baby sit it for hours as it had no funnel that was water tight. With this unit, I can just fill up the funnel & walk away for hours with no concern that I’ll run my carbon bed dry.

When I first ordered the filter system, I thought it was a little overpriced. I ordered it from my phone and the picture didn’t do it justice. When it came in I was blown away by the quality, and the features. The tube holds a whole bag of activated . Very happy!
