A true complete distillation unit that can be used as a moonshine still, alcohol still, essential oil still, and more! The Essential Extractor Pro Series II includes a 2″ diameter, 2-piece column that allows you to distill in two different ways, depending on how you configure it. The Essential Extractor Pro Series II utilizes a full-length, 2-piece column that is more than 3′ long, for true reflux distillation. And when you want to run it as a pot still, simply connect the top piece of the column directly to your kettle, and you’re ready to distill essential oils, moonshine, and more.
Brewhaus’ Essential Extractor Pro Series II distiller features solid Stainless Steel construction, using only dairy quality beverage tubing and high grade custom kettle components. We do not use utility pails or dairy milk cans for our kettles, which are not intended for welding or heating. We also include your choice of either Ceramic Raschig Rings or Copper Mesh column packing, so you can choose the most appropriate type of packing for your desired output. About the Pro Series’ Cooling System:
By placing the cooling lines near the top of the distillation column, reflux is created where it is intended- at the top of the tower. Â This allows for the most effective use of the column filling by causing the refluxed liquid to flow down through it, resulting in a cleaner distillate. Â Crossing the cooling lines instead of leaving them parallel results in a much more efficient cooling system, requiring less cooling water while maintaining effectiveness. Â And, by having the cooling system in direct contact with the rising vapor you achieve a far more efficient and effective cooling than systems that surround a column with a cooling water jacket. Â The slow heat transfer rate through the thick column wall is much less efficient, and concentrates all of the cooling ability around the outside of the column. Â The result of jacketed columns is liquid channeling down the walls of the column, while not cooling the majority of the vapor as it is not in contact with the column wall. Recommendations:
- Most customers choose an 8-gallon kettle for this unit. If you’re looking at a 15-gallon, also consider the High Capacity Essential Extractor PSII, which features a larger column size.
- To heat this unit, either one band heater or one internal heating element is sufficient.
- For column packing, choose the ceramic raschig rings for distilling water or essential oils, and copper mesh for distilling alcohol.
- If you don’t want bung, choose the Wireless Digital Thermometer for your thermometer upgrade (above). It comes with an end cap & 1/2″ coupling that the thermometer screws into at the top of the column, so no bung at all!

Awesome quality, awesome service. As a new owner of a Pro Series II Extractor, I couldn’t be happier with the performance of this fine unit, and with Rick/Brewhaus America’s service ethic. All parts of the unit went together smoothly, and even my first distillations went flawlessly, with 94% ABV output under reflux, and 65-70% with simple distillation. I’ve made 4 runs over the last 6 weeks, starting with a tentative 2-liter commercial wine distillation, and most recently a 25-liter molasses wash which produced a knock-out rum (if I do say so myself). My heat source is the 1100-watt unit that Brewhaus offers, and I never worry about overheating. I’ve done both simple and reflux distillations, with both raschig rings and copper mesh as column packing. It’s all good. Thanks to Rick and his great forum for all the handy tips and recipes. This is really a terrific hobby!

Great distiller!. I had this unit for over a year now and it performs great. I bought the water control valve and it really helped improve the % but it leaks really bad at every connection wish you would include some clamps with it when I purchased it. Only bad thing about the still is the hoses are weak and kink. I buy all my supplies at Brewhaus.

Pro Series II. I ran an 8 liter test through this unit and came up with a 95% distillate. Excellent distiller and easy to use. The submersible waterpump makes it a snap to control the temprature.

Great quality and customer service. I’ve probably made 10 -15 runs since I purchased this machine. It’s a good durable product. It produces a fine smooth distillate, especially when ran through the charcoal filtering system that I also purchased here, equal to some of the finest luquor purchased at the store. I love this machine!

Great, but voltage ratings to be remembered. Bought the fermenter starter kit gold and a hotplate with the distiller. All arrived at these far shores intact and without any damage. But remember the hotplate and water pump are for 120 volts, which does not work in this country – had to get local stuff. All my stupid questions were answered with great patience and clarity. Thanks for the best of service. Have done two runs – one reflux and one traditional. Essential oil extraction next. Am having great fun.

Le Fee Verte (Absinthe). I sampled some Absinthe once while boarding a jet in Toronto…I never was much of a ‘drinker’ per se. This stuff is ‘wild’…I started purchasing commercial varieties from Europe over the net…some are stronger than others (thujone levels)…did some research on original recipies from a hundred years ago…decided to try and make the stuff myself…I purchased this unit (Essential Extractor Pro Series II) from Brewhaus…found herb growers in N.Calif…fresh artemesia absinthium and fennel is shipped to me overnight-frieght…the first batch, I was reday for anything; foul taste, low levels of alcohol and thujone……BUT, this was not the case…the elixir was magnificent. Thujone levels the highest I’ve ever experienced. Stronger than ‘King of Spirits Gold’ from Czechoslovakia. Customer support from Brewhaus has been excellant. Perfect product for near pure ethanol production. This is THE all in one kit to start making ethanol ASAP. It is especially well suited to producing clean 94 ABV distallates from sugar wash. Also makes decent grain based distillate in pot mode, but reflux is where this thing really shines. If you get the gold starter kit as well, you’ll be trying your first batch in a week!

Essential Extractor II Still. Excellent product. With 5 gallons of fermented table sugar and turbo yeast, I am able to consistantly get 2.5 gallons of 80 proof alcohol from this still. It takes about 2.5 hours before my temp reaches 178deg at which time I stop. Granted, the alcohol that comes out of my still is generaly 160 proof. I then freeze it and dillute with filtered water down to 80. My mash fermenter is a 20 gallon bucket. When filled with 17 gallons of mash, I usualy get about 5.5 to 6 gallons of finished 80 proof spirit. Delicious!

Perfect. Just ran off my second batch. Smooth Vodka at 180 proof. Cut it to 90 proof. Everything you need to start except brew buckets, yeast and sugar. Any homebrewer/vintner should already have these supplies. This unit is exceptionally easy to use, clean and store. I use copper mesh inside the column and am so pleased with the results that I could dance a jig. Thanks and kudos to Brewhaus!!!!! Just a note…don’t put 180 proof into anything plastic. It will melt the plastic. Yeah…seriously….I don’t think I’ll be drinking any of the 180 either. It’s frightening to think what this might do to your digestive system. Super Distilate!!!!. This still is awesome. 1st time distilling created an 82% reflux distilate. Out of the box took only 20 minutes to setup. 2 liters in 2 hours. Easy to use with 1500 watt hot plate purchased from Brewhaus as well.

wonderful product, loads of fun.. I originally bought this unit because it was the only one that was available at the time. Needless to say I have had a blast with it. So much so that I have stepped up to the 3″ verson of this unit…. I run it mainly as a pot still and have a hard time keeping the spirit under 165 on the first run. Essential Extractor Pro Series II – Premium. I have purchased this item after a long research. And I made the best choice. The workmanship of this item is just great. A handmade, US made item, everything comes together like a Swiss clock. The disiller comes with a book that explains how to assemble, how to use and maintain it. I see many years of use out of this item…I have used it to distill some old wine…the product came out as pure as spring water! Spend the extra dollars and get the premium kettle. is weel worth it. Purchased from Lowes the LP high pressure burner ($50) and matches the base of the kettle perfectly. Easy to adjust the burn rate. After one hour column got hot and begun dripping. In another one and a half hour job was done. Easy to clean. Provided hoses and pump work great. Just one thing, I think it was overlooked…not enough hose clamp. I used the distiller with the reflux column.

WOW this is nice . WOW what a deal I almost bought elsewhere and now I’m glad I didn’t. This unit arrived in less then a week after I ordered it, Its beautifully welded and polished, all components fit like they were custom made to each other. The parts are heavy thick stainless steel not flimsy DENT easy junk metal. I am retiring my copper unit to DISPLAY mode however this unit surely fits that bill rite outa the box and by the way it was packaged Bulletproof style. I cant say enough about the quality you owe it to yourself to get this unit you wont be sorry. I’m sure when I run it I will be pleased. dented. 2 weeks to ship, but I wasn’t in a hurry. Premium kettle dented in the area for the heat band, no damage to package and small enough to ignore as I can use the dented area for the band clasp so as not to detract from the heating area. All parts ordered arrived, and an impressive looking rig. Haven’t loaded it with water for a leak test run yet, but looks well constructed.

Just be careful when ordering. So the still itself is nice. All the welds are perfect. However, I initially ordered the pot with 1 fitting. Shortly thereafter, I traded 6 emails with Rick, during which he and I agreed on a placement for a second fitting, and he said there was no problem accommodating, since the welder hadn’t started. Just using as a pot still so far. Craftsmanship on this still is fantastic. Everything is rock solid. I’ve run 2 batches so far, both times as a pot still, because I’m using corn, and want some of the corn flavor. Both times I got up to 160 proof. cooling. In Upstate NY, I need only a trickle of tap water (cheap here) to do a controlled condense winter and summer. I use a standard refrigerator ice maker tube with the valve cracked less than a quarter turn for a coolant. Ice and pump not needed.

Perfect. I have the 8 gallon kettle with the 1500W band heater. So far I’ve run it in reflux mode to make vodka. This is a well tuned system that settles into its reflux mode nicely. I use a simple sugar wash and do a stripping run of it in pot still mode first. I think it’s worth the effort. I’m very particular with the vodka I drink and this still yielded a product as good as anything I’ve bought. I did run it through a Brita water filter and it added the finishing touch. Definitely will look into a more advanced filtering system in the future. All construction is A+ and help over a phone is professional and generous. I looked at a lot of brands and types and am very glad I settled on this one. Buy Rick’s book too, it’s a good one.
